Cool and damp this morning, but just enough to get the eyes open and the blood moving. This is offical Bike to Work Week. There’s a chance of rain most of the week, but it’s just water. Ride, smile and enjoy. Make that gas guzzling jalopy in the garage feel neglected!

I’m commuting every day by bike now that I’m back at 1RP. How about the rest of the team? We need to get the count on the bike rack pumped up. Let’s hope for less rain and wind and more sunshiine. The Challenge starts next week.

FYI. The trip log is up on the main page, but it’s a little tricky to see the link. Click on the title ”Click to Log a Trip”. The map function doesn’t appear to work on AEP’s version of Internet Explorer but you can log trips on the simple form.

Go Team! I made the choice last July to eliminate one family car and bike commute every day possible. That’s one less car on the road, elimination of insurance and parking costs and no fuel costs. I’m feeling great. During the past 9 months, I’ve used the bus to commute maybe 7 times. I see some other cyclists on the road, but not enough. I know how difficult it is to find a safe route to the office, but the city is developing safer bikeways every day. The more visible cyclists are on the road, the more attention we will get by our community developers and motorists. Let’s get on those iron ponies and show the world that we can make a difference for our selves and our environment.
